We had a blast!
Mt. Airy Learning Tree’s Annual Hidden Gardens Tour, June 14, 2026

We had a beautiful, bright summer day for this year’s Hidden Gardens Tour! Attendees explored seven lovely private gardens, plus a special Native Plant Stroll featuring four front-yard gems — making for a full and inspiring day. They loved the variety and the chance to chat with each gardener while taking in the beauty of our vibrant community. This beloved event is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting MALT’s programs all year long. This year we sold nearly 400 tickets, and raised $18,000 for MALT!

Our 2026 gardeners: Ken and Judy Weinstein, J. B. Stocovaz, Pix Monaco and Matt Egger, Nancy Stedman, Don Perelman and Elise Singer, Andrew Newman and Jane Nathanson, Millard Reeves and Joanne Iverson, Susan Matyas and Peter Samuel,  Liz Manai, Kate Gallagher, Olga and Don Gordon, and Nancy Goldenberg for sharing your lovely gardens with us! Thank you to Hap Haven for creating our Native Plant Stroll and organizing the native plant education hub at Ned Wolf Park, and Patricia Hendrick-Emore from Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation for sharing your resources. Thank you, Chris Peterson, owner of Mt. Airy Coffee Company for providing a welcoming (and delicious) stop on the tour. We also appreciate Rob Pelszynski, who made us feel so welcome at our after-tour party at Mt. Airy Tap Room!

Thank you to Janet Hoffman (MALT Board of Governors Secretary) who wrote lovely descriptions of the hidden gardens, and helped select the featured gardens during our onsite visits. And thank you to Barbara Botting, one of our gardeners from last year, for helping us curate the tour.
