The Office Coordinator (OC) is an integral member of MALT’s small, highly-efficient part-time team. We enjoy a flexible, laid-back atmosphere, and we have a lot of fun while supporting one of Mt. Airy’s most beloved institutions. The OC supports Mt. Airy Learning Tree through a wide range of customer service and administrative tasks. This role serves as a key liaison with instructors, assists with the creation of the course catalog, answers phones and emails, registers students for classes, and helps problem-solve as issues arise. The Office Coordinator serves as the lead staff contact for our location partners throughout the term. Responsibilities also include sending daily rosters to teachers, assisting with planning locations for the upcoming term of 240+ classes, and maintaining office supplies and inventory.
This is a part-time position, 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. On Fridays, work may be done remotely, although some weeks will require being in the office. The position also includes occasional evening and weekend events, including nonprofit fundraisers in June and October, three orientation nights per year, and a teacher appreciation party in June.
Essential Skills: Very strong customer service is necessary for this role. Must have strong writing skills, computer expertise, and database management abilities, and the ability to work independently. Meticulous attention to detail is required. Familiarity with Google Suite and Excel is required.
Compensation: Annual salary of $27,300 to $28,600, commensurate with experience. Benefits include generous paid time off with 11 holidays per year, 2 personal days, 5 sick days, and three weeks of paid vacation, which includes the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
This position does not include health, dental, or pension benefits. Retirement benefits are provided. A background check is required.
The position will begin in early February.
